Here you are the first step to DIY your own leather bucket bag, DESIGN! I wanna keep my bag classic so I made it as minimal as possible. When I first started to design my own bag like two years ago, I had soooo many questions about sizing and making production patterns. If you have the same questions, the following tips may help :)
Size

If you are good at proportion, determining size of the bag would not be a challenge. What if you don’t? my little tips is check out online stores, they have very detail measurements that give you a general idea how big your bag should be. You can proportionally add/minus based on the given measurements to create your own. This is definitely a safe way to prevent your final product from out of scale.
Making patterns

I am graduated from lingerie design so developing production patterns is less trouble to me. However, it is quite a headache for those without textile background to make their own set of patterns. Actually making production patterns is not that hard as bags’ patterns are mostly rectangular. Only you have to determine the size and add seam allowance based on the design and measurements. The final measurements of my bag are W22cm x H27cm x D14cm, you can have a reference how I develop my patterns. P.S. It varies with designs.

I dont understand how to put the sew the pattern together
can you help?

This is super cool! I need to make myself one of these! I find that bucket bags hold a lot more items than the rectangular ones.

wow this is really cool. i’ve hand stitched very simple leather bags together before, and looking at your pattern this actually looks doable (for me – with minimal experience.. haha). do you use some kind of sewing machine to put this together? i can’t wait to see your finished product!
Hi Step
I hand-stitch everything, not by sewing machine :)

Qué buena idea, a mí me encanta hacerle cositas a mi ropa para que parezca nueva cuando ya me canso de una prenda que es algo más vieja.
