I am a winter person, thanks god the temperature finally dropped a bit and feel like winter! Let’s have some hot dessert to warm you up!
Apple crumble pie
Ingredient
(around 7.5 inches round pie)
Dough
120g plain flour
65g butter
12.5g egg
10g granulated sugar
Filling
2 apples, peeled, cored and sliced into cubes
25ml water
1/2 tbsp plain flour
20g brown sugar
1 slice lemon
1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
Crumble topping
50g butter
65g plain flour
20g brown sugar
35g granulated sugar
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 180℃.
How to
Dough
1. Mix butter and plain flour well, add sugar and egg, work with fingers until the ingredients are well mixed. Chill it in the fridge for at least 20 minutes.
2. Roll frozen dough into a 10-inch circle, carefully fit into a 7.5-inch pie plate, press it into the plate, then trim the edge with a sharp knife. Refrigerate while you are preparing the filling.
Crunch topping
3. Mix butter, plain flour, brown sugar and granulated sugar well. Work with fingers until clumps form. Chill it in the fridge for at least 60 minutes.
Filling
4. Mix plain flour with water.
5. In a saucepan, cook apple cubes with lemon slice and cinnamon powder.
6. Add brown sugar and flour/water mixture of step 4.
7. Transfer the filling to pie plate.
8. Shred crumble on top of the pie until fully covered the filling. Bake for 40 minutes.
Oh…serving with a spoon of ice-cream is a must huh!! :D
